SENIORS-CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!Seniors were emailed information about college decisions and scholarship notifications. Please be sure to check it for details. Seniors should CONSISTENTLY check their email in case of any issues with their college applications/transcript requests. Several seniors don't check their email and therefore miss deadlines or important information--including applications that we cannot process for various reasons. This is each student's responsbility! **Senior survey was due May 4th; any scholarships/awards turned in after that date will not be accepted for Senior Banquet or Honors Convocation. Those who did not complete the survey will not be able to pick up graduation tickets until they personally speak to Mrs. Burek in counseling.
Summer School Registration (online): Registration for summer school classes through Mercy Learning Online is going on now. The counselor handling those registrations is Aprna Hessler; she can be reached via email at abhessler@mhsmi.org or directly at 248-893-3517. The last day to register for online classes is Friday, June 8th; classes begin June 18th.
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! We are excited to work with the new freshwomen and returning students this school year. Stop by and say hello, or if need be, feel free to make an appointment with your counselor during your off-time! We will do our best to keep you updated here with our latest announcements so check back often. Good luck and have a great year.
Counseling is now using Naviance! We now have a new additional Counseling web site resource calledNaviance. It is a more comprehensive college planning resource and is up and running!ALL seniors should've received login information at the end of last school year--and were informed about it again at the mandatory senior meeting held on Friday, August 26th. Feel free to contact your counselor if you have questions.
Seniors - College Application/Transcript Requests: ALL college applications require a transcript, which must be submitted through counseling. You must bring in a Transcript Release Form for each college, along with the $4.00 fee (per transcript) to counseling. You must also include the counselor/secondary school form for each college (if they have one, they're found on each college's website). NO application/transcript requests will be completed without those items. If you are using the Common Application, you MUST still fill out a Transcript Release Form for each Common App school, along with the transcript fee for each. Transcript Release Forms can be found on this site by clicking the "Sr. Transcript Release" link, as well as on Naviance under "documents".
College Representatives Visit Mercy: Several colleges and universities (from in- and out-of-state) visit Mercy during September and October to provide information to interested juniors and seniors. The list of those visiting is updated here on the "College Visit Schedule" link and also in Naviance under the "Colleges" tab, then "visits." Interested students must sign up online in Naviance for a pass at least 2 days in advance of any visit. Students may miss up to 3 class periods (but can attend more visits if they occur during an "off hour"). Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
