Spanish 2 "Re-imagine Detroit"

As part of an interdisciplinary effort with the English, Math, and Social Studies departments, teachers challenged students to "Reimagine Detroit." Spanish teacher Mrs. Carol Shea took students to Bennett Elementary School in Southwest Detroit. Fight Apathy - Alcohol

Thanks to a Challenge Based Learning project "teenage apathy" was brought to its knees at the Fight Apathy! Fair held April 13, 2011 in the Mercy lobby. Teachers Lynn Waldsmith, Mike Gruber and Larry Baker challenged students to defeat teenage apathy in English and American Government classes. Ninth and tenth graders worked several weeks to develop their solutions, implement them, and explicate them to classmates. Poise, innovation, problem solving, team work, web sites, pamphlets, videos, and more!
